Your city, town or village probably looks different at night. In your case it may be more threatening, peaceful or beautiful. For me here in Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey it takes on a type of raw but gritty persona.
I only had my iPhone with me but it performed admirably in the low light. Even the dirty lens created some rather attractive light flare to the lights over the bridge.
I cleaned the lens after this and walked under the bridge noticing the water staining and corrosion which you don’t see in the day. The uplighters highlight these admirably but probably not what the planners had in mind!
The next one shows the stainless steel structure from a further viewpoint.
In days gone by the Inner Harbour would be bustling with ferries, mail boats and cargo vessels. Nowadays it’s unused and decaying and locked away from the sea by the span of the Millennium Bridge footway from the railway station into the town.
In my opinion it still retains a sense of charm and dignity.
As with many port towns, Holyhead’s heyday is long gone and it patiently awaits the next chapter.
